Our Story

It began over 20 years ago when a successful Psychologist living in France was met with a problem. Many families with Autistic children from his community wanted to live in Israel. However; at that time, the provisions for Autistic people were not what they are today, and going through the process of opening a Tik(file) and getting a placement from the Ministry of Welfare was difficult for the regular Israeli, and an extremely daunting undertaking for new immigrants. This was and still can be a problem today, which threatens the dream of moving to Israel ever coming true.

This Psychologist, called Alex Aiss, also shared this dream of living in Israel and he had an idea of how he could help. He would open a home in Israel. So he gave up his Job, left his home, his country, his friends and greater family and everything he knew, to come to Israel and open a Care Home specifically for these families. This was all done without the support of the Ministry of Welfare and very little outside support

The families from France came, and slowly but surely Israeli people began to hear of this new Care Home, and the organization grew and became the home to 30 adults with Autism. Eventually a relationship with the Ministry of Welfare did developed, and we are today, a fully registered and regulated organization.Although the hostel has grown quietly, it is a fixture of the Beit Shemesh community and is continuing to grow all the time.
